Applications

A MegaColor unit mounts on the machine throat and doses color powder or masterbatch into the resin as the machine draws material. That arrangement suits injection molding, blow molding and extrusion — but the three processes draw material differently, so what we can show you measured differs too. Each page below says which is which.

Injection Molding

Our primary application — most of the installed base

Shot-by-shot dosing at the throat. This is where our measured consistency figures come from: single-dose consistency CV < 0.6%, weight accuracy ±1%, color deviation ΔE < 0.2.

Blow Molding

Second largest — bottles, containers, PET preforms

Larger batches and lower value per part, so a per-tonne saving carries further. Our own parent plant runs 20 blow molding machines on MegaColor units.

Extrusion

Pipe, profile, sheet, film, filament

The mechanical fit is the same, but an extruder draws continuously. We do not extrapolate injection molding figures to extrusion — we trial on your material instead.

Common to all three

  • Throat interface 115 × 115 mm or 155 × 155 mm; the unit replaces the original material hopper and the machine itself is not modified
  • Power AC 220V single phase, 50 Hz, 180–240 W by model
  • Compressed air 0.5–0.6 MPa, dry and oil-free — existing shop air is normally enough
  • Color powder 0.1%–5%, masterbatch 1%–10% — one machine does both, swapping a single component
  • Fully enclosed dosing, so pigment does not drift to a neighbouring machine
  • Changeover on the 5th Generation is a 1-minute hopper swap
